Surf Spots Zihuatanejo

North of hotel Palmas

-Barra de Potosi:
15 minute ride from the hotel, river mouth left point break. Sand bottom, ability medium to expert, needs a solid swell to break, fun break with good restaurants on the beach,

-Juluchuca:
30 minute ride from hotel, beach break with lefts and rights with a sand bottom. Usually is always breaking, doesn’t need a lot of swell to break, good barrels, fast wave. Medium to expert break, no restaurants pretty isolated.

-Loma Bonita:
40 minutes ride from hotel, mixed break with sand and rock bottom, lefts and rights. Usually always breaking does not need much swell. Can be really fun, long good barrels, really beautiful beach, medium to expert surfer. Restaurants close by, good cheap food.

South of hotel Palmas

-Playa las Gatas:
20 minute ride from hotel, left point break, rock bottom. World class wave, fun and exiting, needs solid swell, can get crowded due to its closeness to town. The best wave in the state when breaking, good restaurants and really nice beach, medium to expert.

-Las Escolleras:
25 minutes from the hotel, mostly right waves with some lefts, beach break, picks up a lot of swell, usually breaking. Fast wave, really fun, short but powerful, in the tourist town of Ixtapa.

-Playa Linda:
30 minutes from the hotel, really fun spot, rights and lefts, cobblestone bottom, really good wave to learn on, and really fun for experts. Pretty isolated, really nice location, beautiful scenery.

-The Ranch:
60 minutes from the hotel, cobblestone bottom, really fun left break. Picks up a lot of swell, really long wave, fun sections, barrels and speedy. One local restaurant with really good food.
