| Hotel
Las Palmas is located on an open crescent beach named Playa Blanca,
away from the communities of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, and only 10
minutes from the international airport. Playa Blanca is sparsely
populated with very little development, virtually no commercialism
and is accessible by a single dirt road through the area. Coconut
palms and occasional residences dot the tranquil shoreline, where
cattle and goats outnumber human inhabitants. It is distinctively
quiet and peaceful.
Although
Playa Blanca fronts the open Pacific Ocean, land massed on either
end of the curved beach give the appearance of a large bay. Centered
out in the ocean is an irregular cluster of rock islands called
Los Morros de Potosí that lends special interest to the view.
Hotel
Las Palmas sits on 2.5 acres with 100 meters being beachfront, and
no development on either side of the property. The Hotel was built
on a gentle elevation to allow a spectacular 180-degree view. The
ocean facing is southwest, so the sun sets directly into the sea
in all but the summer months. The backdrop on the landside consists
of natural pastures, tropical groves and fresh water estuaries with
the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre del Sur in the background.
Indeed, Hotel Las Palmas is all about nature, tranquility and solitude.
Specifically, Hotel Las Palmas is 6 miles from the Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa
airport, 13 miles from Zihuatanejo, 18 miles from Ixtapa, 25 miles
from Troncones and 4 miles from the tranquil and unspoiled fishing
village of Barra de Potosí. |
